Marian adds investment, communications committees

Marian Catholic High School announced two new committees under its board of directors for the 2026-27 school year: the Investment Committee and the Strategic Communications Committee.

The committees reflect the board’s continued commitment to strengthening the school’s long-term sustainability, visibility and mission-driven impact.

The investment committee will provide oversight and guidance for the school’s investment assets, including its endowment funds. Working in partnership with Catholic Investment Services, the committee will ensure that all investment decisions align with Marian’s Catholic values, respect donor intent and support the school’s long-term financial stability.

Growing the school’s endowment has been identified as a top strategic priority by the board. The Investment Committee will be chaired by Jerome Dvorak, Class of 1982.

“By strengthening our stewardship of financial resources and focusing on long-term growth, we are ensuring that Marian Catholic High School remains accessible and thriving for generations of students to come,” said Dave Bielen, Class of 1969, board chair.

The board has established the strategic communications committee to enhance and promote the school’s public image, brand and voice. The committee will be responsible for developing a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy that clearly articulates Marian’s mission, Catholic identity, academic excellence and community impact.

Working closely with the Enrollment Management Committee, the Strategic Communications Committee will support enrollment goals and strengthen the school’s overall visibility and reputation. Key responsibilities will include managing the school’s digital presence, overseeing marketing materials, promoting admissions events, coordinating consistent branding, and engaging alumni, parishes and the broader community through storytelling and outreach.

The committee will collaborate with the school’s newly appointed director of strategic communications, Samantha Schugardt, who will serve as its primary liaison and help guide implementation of communications initiatives. The committee will be chaired by Maria Montero Esq, Class of 1994.

The Rev. Robert Finlan, principal, said, “As we continue to share the story of our faith-filled community and academic excellence, this committee will play a vital role in connecting with families and showcasing the transformative experience a Marian education provides.”
