Fire companies from several Schuylkill County communities responded to a working dwelling fire Sunday afternoon in the village of Deer Lake. The blaze was reported just after 1 p.m. at 408 Willow St. When firefighters arrived on scene they found heavy flames pouring from the front porch spreading to the roof and interior of the home. A quick response by area fire companies contained the fire, saving the single family wood frame dwelling.
