Marian Catholic High School in Hometown is reinforcing its commitment to making a values-centered, college-preparatory education accessible to families across the region.

For the 2025-26 school year, Marian is providing a record-breaking $815,000 in financial aid to 171 families, supporting a total of 200 students.

While the full annual tuition was $8,100 for the 2025-26 school year, school leaders emphasize that many families pay significantly less thanks to financial assistance programs and community support.

Despite this, Marian recognizes that affordability concerns may discourage prospective families from even exploring a Catholic education.

“We want families to know that a Marian education is within reach,” said Rev. Robert Finlan, principal of Marian Catholic. “Our mission is to serve students and families, and we work diligently to ensure that financial circumstances are not a barrier to experiencing the academic excellence and faith formation Marian provides.”

A significant portion — more than $700,000 — of the financial aid awarded this year is made possible through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit, Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit and Economically Disadvantaged Schools programs.

An additional $114,000 comes from the generosity of Marian alumni, parents, grandparents and friends through contributions to the Marian Fund, endowed scholarships and memorial scholarships.

“Marian Catholic has always been about opportunity — opportunity to grow academically, spiritually and personally,” said Dave Bielen ’69, chair of the board of directors. “We encourage families to take a closer look. The perception of cost should never prevent a family from discovering what Marian can offer their child.”

Bill Stulginsky ’69, Finance Committee chair, echoed that sentiment.

“Thanks to strong community support and vital state programs, we are able to bridge the gap for many families,” he said. “Investing in a Marian education is an investment in a student’s future, and we are committed to making that investment possible.”

Families interested in learning more are invited to attend Marian Catholic High School’s Spring Open House on Sunday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The event will provide an opportunity to tour the school, meet faculty and students, and learn more about academic programs, extracurricular activities and available financial aid.

“We encourage every family to explore Marian before making assumptions about affordability,” said Mary Milosh, director of admissions. “We are here to guide families through the process and help them understand all the options available to make Marian a reality.”
