Jim Thorpe’s boys and Northwestern Lehigh’s girls capped unbeaten dual meet seasons by clinching Colonial League division titles Tuesday.
TRACK
Catasauqua-Jim Thorpe
Jim Thorpe capped off a strong regular season by sweeping Catasauqua in a Colonial League meet, as the Olympians’ boys clinched the West Division title.
The Olympians earned a 95-54 victory on the boys’ side, and a 96-53 win in the girls’ competition.
On the boys’ side, Dominic Kiehl won the 800 and James Cicchinelli captured the 3200, while Samuel Epps added a victory in the triple jump. Gavin Strohl swept the throws, winning both the shot put and discus. Jim Thorpe also claimed the 400 and 3200 relays, while Joshua Louk (javelin) and Connor Zurwawa (pole vault) both added wins.
For the girls, Logan Gillespie swept the distance races, winning the 1600 and 3200, while Stacy Bos (800) and Brooklyn Yuhas (400) also finished first. Vanessa Sadler won both the shot put and discus, Isabella Roman captured the javelin, and Madilyn Off (pole vault) and Kimora Seales-Griffith (high jump) each added victories.
Jim Thorpe also won the 1600 and 3200 relays.

Northwestern-Lehighton
Northwestern Lehigh swept Lehighton in a Colonial League meet, winning 89-61 on the boys’ side and 95-54 in the girls’ competition, as the Tigers’ girls clinched the Colonial League West Division dual meet title.
For the boys, Northwestern swept all three relays and was led in the field by Landon Gaulweiler (long jump), Logan Mesics (triple jump), Michael Lagowy (high jump) and Ethan Kaschak (pole vault), while Brady Furman won the 800.
Lehighton was paced by multiple-event winners Sawyer Hoffman (200, 400), Elijah Pagotto (1600, 3200) and Equan Warner (110, 300 hurdles). Bodie Hawk (shot put, discus) and Kris Rodgers (javelin) also earned wins.
On the girls’ side, Northwestern was led by double winners Rosalia Nestor (800, 1600), Taylor Langley (100, 300 hurdles) and Mallory Conner (shot put, discus). The Tigers also dominated the jumps.
Lehighton was led by Lilyana Shapiro, who won the 100, 200 and 400, while Claudia Pagotto added a victory in the 3200.

Marian Catholic turned in several strong individual performances in a Schuylkill League meet against Schuylkill Haven.
The Hurricanes earned a 92-58 victory on the boys’ side, and a 99-50 win in the girls’ meet.
On the boys’ side, Jacob Berlanda won the 800 and Wade Eroh captured the 1600, while Jacob Tom swept the horizontal jumps with victories in both the long jump and triple jump. Marian also won the 3200 relay.
For the girls, Teaghan Biros swept the distance races, winning both the 1600 and 3200, while Vicky Lashock took the 100. Adalyn Marek added wins in both the high jump and javelin.
In the throws, Gianna Giannelli won the shot put and Esme Petschauer captured the discus, while Leah Grabosky finished second in both hurdle events.

Palmerton earned a sweep of Northern Lehigh in a Colonial League meet, edging the Bulldogs 79-70 on the boys’ side and winning 109-39 in the girls’ competition.
For the boys, Ezra Green swept the distance races, winning both the 1600 and 3200, while Vincent Taglieri claimed both the long jump and triple jump. Lincoln Baker (400), Caleb Pastier (110 hurdles), Jacob Walkowiak (pole vault), Colson Ruzicka (shot put) and Lucas Szumigraj (javelin) also earned wins.
Northern Lehigh was led by Michael Bauer (100), Colin Karetsky (200) and Zaid Salih (800), while Josiah LaFond swept the hurdles and Cayden Anglin won the 300 hurdles.
On the girls’ side, Palmerton’s Emma Rex (200, javelin) and Ruby Walters (100, 300 hurdles) were double winners, while Sarah Sabo led a sweep in the 100. Gabby Lucas (long jump), Aubrey Frable (triple jump) and Jalynn Herman (shot put) also finished first.
Northern Lehigh’s Emma Heil won both the 800 and 1600, and Natalie Moffitt added a victory in the 400.

Panther Valley turned in several standout performances despite falling to Shenandoah Valley, 70-61 on the boys’ side, and 67-58 in the girls’ competition in a Schuylkill League meet.
For the boys, Dominic Pena swept the hurdle events, while Gino Williams dominated the throws, winning both the shot put and discus and adding a victory in the javelin. The Panthers also claimed both the 400 and 1600 relays.
On the girls’ side, Morgan Orsulak had a big day for Panther Valley, sweeping the jumps with wins in the high jump, long jump and triple jump. Hannah Shreffler added a victory in the 400, while Emily Lapp captured the discus.

Pine Grove-Tamaqua
Tamaqua swept Pine Grove in a Schuylkill League meet, winning 103-34 on the boys’ side and 89-61 in the girls’ competition.
For the boys, Jonnathan Knepper won both the 400 and 800, while Luis Tejada captured both the 300 hurdles and pole vault. Brody Schlier (100), Luis Sanchez (200) and Aidan Elston (1600) also earned wins, while Thomas Rivera (shot put), William Behun (discus) and Larson Hudak (javelin) led the field events. Tamaqua also won both the 1600 and 3200 relays.
On the girls’ side, Shaylee Gormley swept both the 400 and 800, while Payton Selby (100 hurdles) and Katelynn Fredericks (300 hurdles) also finished first. Jaana Tamagini (pole vault), Gabby Osenbach (long jump) and Nia Kovalchick (triple jump) all added wins, and the Blue Raiders claimed the 1600 and 3200 relays.
