Bowmanstown hosts yard sale
Bowmanstown Area Residents Connected will hosts its annual community yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Take a few minutes to stop by the “BARC homes” at 422 Ore St., 509 White St., and 518 Hamilton St. where maps of the registered sellers will be distributed and Gertrude Hawk candy bars can be purchased as fundraisers for their community projects. The home at 422 Ore St. will also be selling spring perennials and house plants.
“I love the way the community yard sale brings people together” said Christine Bottcher, a resident of Bowmanstown and member of BARC. “I get to check out what other people are selling, and for someone else, my junk may be their treasure.”
Shelly Nicholson “loves being able to recycle, reuse, and repurpose our things so they don’t end up in a landfill.”
Nonprofits offering wares and food include: Emmanuel UCC Church, basket social and selling hot dogs, 509 Hamilton St.; Bowmanstown- Parryville Lion’s Club, coffee and blueberry or chocolate waffles, 515 White St.; Bowman Park camp, used books and bake sale, 427 Ore St.; Carbon Model Train Society, model train items for sale, 529 Ore St.; and Trinity Lutheran Church, hot dogs, drinks, book sale, and yard sale items, 500 Ore St.
The Bowmanstown Area Fire Company will have a boot drop at an entrance into town. Phil’s French Fries food truck will be located at the fire company.
The event will be held rain or shine.
