Lehighton’s softball team cruised to a non-league win on Friday.

SOFTBALL

Executive Edu.-Lehighton

Lehighton exploded in the first inning and rolled to a 21-1 non-league victory over visiting Executive Education.

The Indians scored 14 times in the opening frame, making the most of seven walks, three extra base hits and five singles.

Sophia Wise hit a two-run homer during the big first.

Kiera Herman had a single, double, two runs and three RBIs for Lehighton, while Amber Yeakel finished with two doubles and two RBIs.

Morgan Myers (two singles, three runs, two RBIs) also contributed to the huge offensive output.

BASEBALL

Executive Education gained a 7-6 non-league victory over Lehighton.

After trailing 5-4 after two innings, the Indians took a short-lived advantage. Aidan Solt scored on a throwing error to tie the game, and Brock Atwood stole home on a double steal to give the host team a one-run lead.

The Raptors used back-to-back bases loaded walks in the sixth to re-take the lead.

Cash White finished with two hits, one a triple, and an RBI.

Executive’s Daniel Liz Madera reached base four times with two hits and two walks.

Lehighton-Salisbury

In Colonial League action on Thursday, Lehighton came away with a sweep of Salisbury.

Elijah Pagotto and Lilyana Shapiro led the way for the Indians, as both finished with three firsts on the track. Pagotto captured the 800, 1600 and 3200. Shapiro, meanwhile, sprinted her way to wins in the 100, 200 and 400.

Bodie Hawk (discus, shot put) and Hallie Miller (discus, shot put) also added multiple firsts.
