Weissport Borough Secretary/Treasurer Cheryl Miller reported this month that $5,460 in garbage fees was collected in March. A total of $54,648.59 has been collected so far this year.
Miller also reported some of the delinquent taxpayers have been in contact with the borough.
“Some (bills) have been paid off, and we’re getting a lot of calls about payment plans,” Miller said.
It was noted by borough solicitor Greg Mousseau that Miller will represent the borough at the court sessions at the Carbon County Courthouse for the delinquent accounts.
In other business, the White Street Road Project should be on PennBid by the May meeting, according to borough engineer Mike Muffley.
Miller advised council that the 2024 audit has been started.
