2 sentenced in Schuylkill

Schuylkill County judges recently sentenced two local men charged by state police Trooper Caleb M. Oestrike of the Frackville barracks.

A New Ringgold man will serve a year on probation and pay $100 in restitution after pleading guilty in Schuylkill County court to defiant trespass.

Timothy A. Hagedorn II, 40, was charged by Oestrike after an incident in the borough on May 16, 2025.

Judge Andrew J. Serina also ordered Hagedorn to have no contact with the victim, pay costs of prosecution and a $65 monthly supervision fee.

Charges of harassment and disorderly conduct were dropped in the plea.

Wayne D. Curry, 63, Tamaqua, was charged by Oestrike with driving under the influence, incapable of driving safely, first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; driving while his blood alcohol content was above 0.02% or greater while his license was suspended; disregarding traffic lanes; speeding; careless driving; driving an unregistered vehicle; and violating restrictions on alcoholic beverages on Jan. 10, 2025 in Mahanoy Township.

Judge Christopher Hobbs on the DUI charge sentenced Curry to serve three to six months in the county prison; fined him $500; ordered him to surrender his license for 12 months with use of an ignition interlock device after five months and to remain installed for 12 months; perform 40 hours of community service; and to pay a total of $400 in fees, $1,125 to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and $113 to the Bethlehem Crime Lab.

Hobbs fined Curry $25 on each of the following charges: disregarding traffic lanes, speeding, careless driving, driving an unregistered vehicle and restrictions on alcoholic beverages.

The judge sentenced Curry to 12 months on probation on the paraphernalia charge and ordered him to pay a monthly $65 supervision fee. Curry will serve the probation after he finishes his prison sentence.

Hobbs also fined Curry $1,000 on the charge of driving with a BAC of 0.02% or greater while his license was suspended.
