State police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 59-year-old woman from Kunkletown reported a theft by deception/identity theft incident police at 2:57 p.m. March 12 on Upper Green Hill Road, Polk Township.

She told police that she was contacted by someone claiming to be a representative of her bank, who coerced her into providing the login information for her online banking account. The caller withdrew $1,500 from the account, police said.

• Andrew Palco, 66, of Whitehall, was charged with stealing meat valued at $10,805.32 in an incident on Mountain Road, Ross Township.

Police said a 37-year-old man from Saylorsburg reported that Palco was an employee who was caught on surveillance footage stealing the meat from the business at 3:23 p.m. Jan. 12.
