Horvath named conference scholar-athlete
Junior Muhlenberg College student-athlete Christian Horvath of Bethlehem, PA has been Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men’s wrestling.
Scholar-Athletes of the Year are presented to a member of the junior or senior class with the highest cumulative GPA on the All-Centennial team.
A psychology major, Horvath had a phenomenal season on the mat, winning the CC title at 125 pounds. He finished with a record of 25-4, setting school records for technical falls in a season (12) and career (23). He won the 125-pound bracket at the Scotty Wood Invitational, placed second at Alvernia and Messiah, and came within one win of qualifying for the NCAA Championships, finishing four at regionals.
Horvath is the second consecutive Mule to earn Scholar-Athlete of the Year in wrestling; Andrew Franklin took the honor last year. He also is the third Muhlenberg athlete to receive the award this academic year, joining Erin DiSandro (field hockey) and Sam Roberts (men’s soccer).
ArtsQuest’s Shayna Super honored
ArtsQuest has announced that Lehigh Valley Business has selected Shayna Super, programming director, as a 2026 Women of Influence recipient.
A member of the ArtsQuest organization since 2014, Super first served as an intern before joining the ArtsQuest programming team in 2019 and served as Executive Director of the Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks from 2023-2025. As a dynamic leader in concert promotion, Super’s work not only brings high-impact concerts and events to the Lehigh Valley, but also strengthens the region’s cultural landscape while mentoring and uplifting the next generation of women in the industry through her deep commitment to collaboration and community-building partnerships.
Women of Influence awards honor high-achieving women for their career accomplishments. The honorees are selected based on their professional experience, community involvement and commitment to mentoring.
This year’s Women of Influence will be honored at an awards celebration on May 6 at DeSales University Center, 2755 Station Avenue in Center Valley. A networking reception begins at 5 p.m. followed by dinner and an awards celebration at 6 p.m. The event hashtag is #LVBevents.
Millersville graduate
Jessica Pine of Bethlehem graduated from Millersville University of Pennsylvania in December with a bachelor of arts in English.
Area students get academic honors
Tufts University recently announced the Dean’s List for the fall 2025 semester including these Bethlehem area students: Kanchan Gupta, Class of 2028; and Silas Licsko, Class of 2028.
Dean’s List honors at Tufts University require a semester grade-point average of 3.4 or greater.
Local resident attends seminar
In January, six East Stroudsburg University students, including Daniel Rossi from Bethlehem, attended the Washington Center’s Inside Washington academic seminar. ESU students were part of a group of nearly 200 learners from around the country who gathered in-person for a unique insider’s view into the state of politics, the 2026 Min-term elections, policy, and the future of democracy in America. They were accompanied by Kimberly S. Adams, Ph.D., professor of political science, who also supervised five Stockon University and four students from various schools across the U.S.
Residents get James Madison honors
Bethlehem resident Emma Lisson has been named to the President’s List at James Madison University for the fall 2025 semester. Students who earn president’s list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.900 or above. Lisson is majoring in Music - BM.

Samuel on Muskingum Dean’s List
Jesikah Samuel of Bethlehem has been named to the Fall 2025 Dean’s List at Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio.
To be named to the dean’s list, students must earn a term GPA of 3.60 or above on a minimum load of 12 completed semester hours of A-F graded coursework.
Searfass on Point Park’s fall Dean’s List
Imagyn Searfass of Bethlehem was named to Point Park University’s Fall 2025 Dean’s List.
Searfass was among more than 1,400 students named to the fall 2025 dean’s list.
To be named to the dean’s list, a student must have a 3.5 GPA.
Barlow earns Hartford’s academic honors
The University of Hartford announced that Lucas Barlow of Bethlehem has been named to the University of Hartford’s Dean’s List and President’s List for the fall 2025 semester.
The dean’s list recognizes students achieving superior academic standing. The requirement, with some exceptions, is a grade-point average of at least 3.0 and no grade below C.
The president’s list recognizes a select group of students reaching the highest level of academic standing. To be placed on the President’s List, students must maintain a GPA of at least a 3.75 and receive grades of C or better.
Silman on Fairfield Dean’s List
Fairfield University student Alison Silman of Bethlehem received dean’s list honors for the fall 2025 semester. In order to be placed on the dean’s list, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in a semester, have no outstanding or incomplete grades for that semester, and have attained a semester grade-point average of 3.50 or better.
Ferrari in ‘RadiumGirls’ production
Abriana Ferrari of Bethlehem participated in Wig and Buckle Theater Company’s upcoming production of “Radium Girls” at Lebanon Valley College. Ferrari is a member of the crew.
Ferrari, a homeschooled graduate, is pursuing a bachelor of science in biochemistry and molecular biology at The Valley.
Bricco on Ferman’s fall Dean’s List
Julia Bricco of Bethlehem is among Furman University students on the dean’s list for the 2025 fall semester. Furman’s Dean’s List is composed of full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade-point average of 3.4 or higher on a four-point system.
Bricco’s parents and/or guardians are Angela Bricco and Brian Bricco.
Kilareski on Salve Regina’s fall Dean’s List
Chase Kilareski of Bethlehem was named to the Dean’s List during the fall 2025 academic semester at Salve Regina University. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade-point average of 3.6 for full-time students completing at least 12 graded credits, or a semester grade-point average of 3.8 for part-time students completing at least six credits.
Residents on Wilkes fall Dean’s List
Wilkes University Chief Operating Officer and Provost David M. Ward announced the dean’s list for the fall 2025 semester. To be named to the dean’s list, students must obtain a minimum 3.5 grade-point average and carry at least 12 credits.
Local students named to the dean’s list include Bethlehem area residents Ryan Santiago, Anthony D’Annibale, Emma Hein and Jennifer Hittinger.
Schwoerer on fall President’s List
Derek Schwoerer of Bethlehem was named to the Mississippi State University fall 2025 President’s List. Students on the president’s list achieved a 3.80 or better GPA, based on a 4.0 scale, while completing at least 12 semester hours of coursework with no incomplete grades or grades lower than a C.
Vazquez on Youngstown State’s Dean’s List
Salina Vazquez of Fountain Hill majoring in nursing RN to BSN, has been named to the Dean’s List at Youngstown State University for fall semester 2025.
Dean’s list recognition is awarded to full-time undergraduate students who have earned at least a 3.4 grade-point average for not less than 12 semester hours of credit in the Fall semester.
Desris earns accounting degree
Alan Desris of Bethlehem, earned a bachelor of science summa cum laude/President’s List in accounting from University of Maryland Global Campus in fall 2025. To qualify for the prestigious President’s List at UMGC, students must have graduated with a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 4.0.
Ruggiero on Fairleigh Dickinson’s honor list
MacKenzy Ruggiero of Bethlehem, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, N.J., has been named to the Honors List for the fall 2025 semester.
To qualify for the honors list, a student must carry a 3.5 or better grade-point average out of a possible 4.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 letter-graded hours (four courses).
Residents on Delaware Valley fall Dean’s List
Three Bethlehem area students were honored for academic achievement by being named to Delaware Valley University’s fall 2025 Dean’s List: Savannah Callahan; Emma Haas; and Meaghan Ickes.
Area residents in fall LVC ensembles
Three Bethlehem area residents were amongh the more than 200 Lebanon Valley College students participating in at least one music ensemble during the Fall 2025 semester.
Benjamin Graybeal, a member of College Choir, is a graduate of Liberty High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in exercise science at The Valley.
Wesley Koch, a member of College Choir, is a graduate of Liberty HS, is pursuing a bachelor of science in exercise science at The Valley.
Owen Haas, a member of Symphony Orchestra and Valley Jazz Orchestra and Brass Ensemble, is a graduate of Liberty High School, is pursuing a bachelor of music in audio and music production at The Valley.
Adams inducted into nursing honor society
Ellen Adams of Bethlehem was part of the latest La Salle University class inducted into the Kappa Delta Chatper of the Sigman Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Oct. 17. The 32 students and one faculty member are all from La Salle’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Blum joins business honors program
Benjamin D. Blum of Bethlehem is among the 32 members of The University of Scranton’s Class of 2029 who enrolled in its prestigious Frank P. Corcione Business Honors Program, one of the University’s five programs of excellence.
Students in this program complete four years of honors studies in economics, entrepreneurship, operations management, accounting, finance, international business, marketing and management, as well as a series of personal development extracurricular activities in service and career building.
Blum is a finance major at Scranton.
Marrero performs in ‘Everybody’
Samantha Marrero of Bethlehem took part in the theater production of “Everybody” at Muhlenberg College recently.
A graduate of Freedom HS, Marrero performed the duties of Captioner while studying Psychology and Theatre as a member of the class of 2028 at Muhlenberg.
Residents attend Yale solidarity conference
Two area residents, Nakeem Facey of Fountain Hill and Amiah Riddick of Bethlehem, were among the 17 students from East Stroudsburg University’s Black Student Union (BSU) who traveled to Yale University from Feb. 5-7 to attend the 2026 Black Solidarity Conference, the largest undergraduate conference hosted at Yale and the longest-running, Black-led Ivy League conference in the country.
Quuijano gets LV Hospital match
Dianna Quijano of Bethlehem was among the 111 soon-to-be graduates of Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine who learned their residency placements during the National Resident Matching Program’s “Match Day,” an event at which all fourth-year M.D. students around the country simultaneously open their envelopes to learn where they will spend the next three to seven years training in their chosen specialty.

Residents elected into Phi Kappa Phi
Two Bethlehem area residents were recently elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.
Cameron Frantz at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania and Olivia Perez of Bethlehem at Kean Universityare among approximately 20,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.
