Tamaqua police log

Tamaqua police reported the following incidents:

• Police charged a Coaldale woman with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness following an early morning March 18 incident in Coaldale, which Tamaqua police patrol.

According to police, officers were dispatched to Ridge Terrace for a report of a break-in at a car and a house. Police arrived and heard the caller, Kimberly Leal, 55, Coaldale, yelling even though no one was in the area. Leal told police that someone was in her bathroom. But when police inspected the room, no one was there.

Officers believed that Leal was under the influence of a controlled substance. She consented to a search of her residence and a glass smoking pipes, a straw and residue were found, police said.

A preliminary hearing for Leal has been scheduled for April 28 before Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer in Tamaqua.

• Police cited Adam Falu, 36, of Tamaqua, for trespassing after he was at the parking lot of Fegley’s Mini Mart, 30 Center St., around 11 p.m. on March 15.

Falu is not supposed to be at the store, according to police.

Tamaqua police charged a borough man with violating a Protection from Abuse court order.

Police said that between March 11 and 18, James Englert, 49, sent approximately 70 text messages to a woman who has an active PFA against him.
