Center Stage Theatre will perform “Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical Jr.” at the Tamaqua Arts Center at 7 p.m. today, 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Featuring a cast of 40 local youth performers, this high-energy musical is based on the beloved book “Matilda” by Roald Dahl and adapted from the award winning full-length stage production.
The musical tells the inspiring story of an extraordinary girl who uses her sharp mind and vivid imagination to stand up for what’s right and change her own destiny.
Audiences can expect an unforgettable performance filled with humor, heart and the boundless creativity of young local talent.
It features Cadence Kline as Matilda Wormwood, Aliyah Solnoki as Miss Honey, and Carly Green as Agatha Trunchbull.
The production is directed by Amy Green, with music direction by Allison Kline.
The creative team also includes assistant directors Heather Kerestus and Aimee Hegedus, choreographer Ava Vengen, and stage manager Katie Garvey.
