Turnpike crashes

State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Joseph G. Bezanis, 29, of Pennsburg, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 4:15 p.m. March 16 at mile marker 83 in Penn Forest Township.

He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt northbound when it traveled over standing water and went out of control, striking the concrete barrier on the right shoulder of the road.

• Paul W. Ignatovich, 34, of Plymouth, was cited for careless driving following a one-vehicle crash at 5:51 p.m. March 16 at mile marker 90 in Kidder Township.

He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic northbound when he lost control of it while negotiating the rain/water covered highway. The car struck an embankment off the right side of the road and rolled over.

The car had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

Police said Ignatovich declined medical treatment and/or an evaluation at the scene.
