State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:
• Police were called to a property on Emerson Drive, Ross Township, at 5:50 p.m. March 10 to investigate a theft.
A 33-year-old woman from Mount Pocono told them a suspect withdrew money from her bank account at an ATM.
• Police are investigating the theft of fiber optic cable in a criminal mischief incident they were called to at 3:30 a.m. March 13 at the intersection of Ashfield and Blue Mountain roads, East Penn Township.
They said the victim is Verizon, Tulsa, Oklahoma. The cable is valued at $300.
• A 25-year-old Palmerton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 10:02 a.m. March 9.
He was stopped in a 2014 Kia Soul for a traffic violation on Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East, Lehighton.
• Police said the theft of a firearm at West Sunset Road, East Penn Township, was reported at 12:21 p.m. Feb. 24.
The victim is a 49-year-old Lehighton man. Police did not provide any other details of the incident.
• Two Kunkletown men, ages 47 and 19, were cited for harassment by physical contact after police were called to a property on Serfass Road, Polk Township, at 12:50 a.m. March 18.
Police said they physically harassed each other within their common residence.
• Police were called to a criminal mischief report at 9:53 p.m. March 10 at a property on Dowling Lane, Polk Township.
An 84-year-old man from Gilbert told police that a padlock was destroyed on his property.
• Police are investigating the theft of a child’s Mongoose BMX bike from a property on White Street in Weissport.
The victims, a 39-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man, both from Lehighton, told police the bike was stolen between 8:15 a.m. and 5 p.m. March 11.
The bike is valued at $20, police said.
