In response to the statement often made, “the Jews killed Jesus.”
This statement is only partly true because the Roman government also played a big part in it and they had the final say. For the record, we have to realize that Jesus himself was a Jew.
Putting that aside, let’s get the story straight. Jesus was arrested by the Jewish religious leaders, tried by the Sanhedrin, which was part of a Jewish council controlled by the Roman government, and sentenced by Pontius Pilate who was the Roman governor of Judea at that time.
We should not dwell on who killed him because it was something that had to be done according to scripture in our Holy Bible. This event was God’s plan for the redemption of mankind. About one hundred times in the Old Testament the prophets talked about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Every prediction came to pass in exact detail.
Getting back to the Jews, we have to realize that they are God’s chosen people. They always were and always will be. With that said, we have to realize that we who are gentiles also have the same opportunity to have a relationship with our Lord and be part of the New Kingdom.
We have to pay more attention to our Holy Bible (the inspired word of God) which contains the most authoritative information on the planet. Nothing in its contents has ever been proven wrong.
We need to stop playing the “blame game” and heed the words of Jesus when he said, “love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul, and love one another as I have loved you.”
