Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Feb. 26 with 25 members present.

President Jean Machamer opened the meeting. A member recited the invocation, “The Prayer of Thanks to All.”

Drinks and snacks were served, with Machamer donating cupcakes. A basket containing kitchen items and snacks was chanced off.

Members are reminded that dues will be collected in March. Bingo was played.

The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex.

Calvary Lewstown

Pastor Debra will deliver a message of “When God meets us in the wilderness” at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Church in Lewistown. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening service.

There will be no Wednesday prayer meeting at the church; however, the Wednesday Lenten service will be held at the Congregational Free Church of Christ in McKeansburg. Hymn sing is at 7:15 p.m. followed by the service at 7:30 p.m.

All are welcome to all services.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

The preschool board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The open house for Valley Christian Preschool will be held from 6-8 p.m. March 12. The consistory will also meet at 6:30 p.m. March 12.

St. Peter’s West Penn

The 9 a.m. Sunday service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn will have a joyous noise offering. Adult Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m. Easter flower orders are due.

The prayer group meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The deadline for the April newsletter is Tuesday.

On Wednesday, retirees meet at 9:30 a.m. and the midweek Lenten service will be held at 7 p.m. at Zion Stone Church.

The Cherub Choir meets at 6 p.m. March 12.
