Washington Township supervisors

The Washington board of supervisors approved the following items Tuesday night:

• Will advertise for bids for the 2026 Road Project of Bottom Road, Oakwood Lane, and Cider Press Road. Manager Wade Marlatt said, “Money will come from liquid fuels funds from the state and the remainder will come from the General Fund, which may be needed since we get $40,000 a year less from the state for roads.”

• Released the budgeted $32,000 to Friedens Fire Company.

• Set the date for cleanup day, June 6, 2026 from 8 a.m. to noon.

• Approved the request for the use of Eagles Nest Park to the Northern Lehigh Recreation Association with insurance for the Bulldog Blast Summer Rec Program, June 22 through Aug. 22 on Fridays from 9 a.m. until 12:15 p.m.; Walk with Ease Program, April 13 through May 22, every Monday and Friday from 11:15 a.m. until 12:15 p.m.and Trunk or Treat — Oct. 16 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

• Chairman Shawn Wanamaker announced the board had an executive session before the meeting about personnel.

• Supervisor Tom Dengler said, “I urge everyone to take it easy out on the roads. There are a lot of potholes from the bad winter we had. We are working on filling them in. If any residents see any, please call the office.”
