Tamaqua police charged Shauna Kern, 32, Hellertown, with disorderly conduct and making nonemergency calls to the Schuylkill County Communications Center on Feb. 28.

Police said they were called to the unit block of Lafayette Street at 7:18 a.m. for a disturbance and spoke to the complainant, Kern. She appeared to be under the influence and was yelling obscenities from a second-story window. Kern was told to stop and return to the apartment.

About 20 minutes later, she called 9-1-1 two times within a minute. Kern called 9-1-1 three more times just after 1 p.m. without reporting emergencies, police said.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for April 14 before District Judge Stephen Bayer in Tamaqua.
