Kindergarten registration is open in the Palmerton Area School District for the 2026-27 school year.

Registration will be held April 7-9 at the district administration office, 3295 Forest Inn Road, Suite 4, Palmerton. Appointments are required and must be scheduled through a Google form available at www.palmerton.org. Families will receive an email confirming their selected date and time.

Registration hours are 1-7 p.m. April 7, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 8 and 9-11:30 a.m. April 9.

Children who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2026, are eligible to enroll. Kindergarten is a full-day program at Parkside Education Center and Towamensing Elementary School.

Parents or guardians must attend the appointment; children do not need to be present. Families must provide a state-issued birth certificate or other acceptable proof of age and name, parent photo identification, proof of residency and immunization records.

State law requires written proof of the following immunizations for children entering school for the first time: four doses each of tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis, with one dose administered on or after the child’s fourth birthday; four doses of polio, with the fourth dose on or after the fourth birthday and at least six months after the previous dose; three doses of hepatitis B; two doses each of measles, mumps and rubella; and two doses of varicella or a record of having had chicken pox.

Kindergarten screening is scheduled for June 9.
