An elderly man was killed Friday morning in a crash in Walnutport.

Walnutport Police Chief Jason Nothstein said the crash happened at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection North Best Avenue (Route 145) and Spruce Avenue.

The crash was between a tractor trailer and an SUV.

Nothstein said he got to the scene one minute after it was reported, but the driver of the SUV had no pulse.

The next of kin has been notified but Nothstein said he is waiting to release information to allow the family to grieve privately.

Walnutport Police and the Northampton County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
