Monroe county incidents
State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported the following crashes:
• Police said a large piece of ice flew off a vehicle and struck another vehicle at 4:09 p.m. on Jan. 28 on Route 33 in Hamilton Township.
They said a 2020 Ram was passing a 2019 Chevrolet Trax when the dislodged ice struck the hood of the Trax, causing a minor dent.
Police did not identify the drivers but said the vehicles were driven from the scene.
• Tina Washington, 64, of East Stroudsburg, was cited for “duties at a stop sign” after a two-vehicle crash at 11:13 a.m. on Jan. 30 on Route 611 in Hamilton Township.
Police said she was driving a 2015 Volvo that was involved in a crash with a 2009 Honda Accord operated by Michael A. Garcia, 20, also of East Stroudsburg.
Details of the crash were not provided by police, who reported that no one was injured.
State police reported the following incidents:
• Police reported a theft incident this week that occurred at 5:48 p.m. on Oct. 3.
They said a 17-year-old boy from Throop reported someone stole two sweatsuits, a belt, shirt and two pairs of shoes, having a collective value of $4,520. The items were taken from a site on Route 611 in Hamilton Township, police said.
The investigation into the theft is ongoing, police said.
• Police said $1,199 in federal funds were stolen from a 70-year-old woman from Stroudsburg.
She reported the incident took place on Nov. 21 when her survivor benefits were stolen in a theft by deception/identity theft incident.
Police said the Social Security Administration is investigating the theft as well.
