State police at Bethlehem
State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 63-year-old Walnutport man is the victim of a harassment by physical contact incident that police were called to at 2:22 p.m. Dec. 22 on Route 873 in Washington Township.
Police said they were summoned to an inactive domestic incident between a father and son. They said the two exchanged shoves before the son fled the scene.
They said the father wished for no charges to be filed against his son.
• Police were called to two natural deaths.
The first call was received at 9:26 a.m. Jan. 8 at a property on Route 309 in North Whitehall Township. They said a 78-year-old Schnecksville man underwent cardiac arrest and had died before they arrived on the scene.
The second occurred at 4:31 p.m. Jan. 15 on Memorial Road, Heidelberg Township.
Police said a 69-year-old man from Germansville was discovered dead in his residence by neighbors.
The county coroner’s office was called to both scenes.
• Police were called to Glen Court, Heidelberg Township, at 8:10 p.m. Jan. 19 for a theft of a motor vehicle report.
They said charges are pending against Nasahyjia Farmer, 19, of Tamaqua.
The victim is a 22-year-old man from Allentown, and the incident involved is a 2021 Hyundai Elantra, police said.
• A 36-year-old Walnutport man and a 37-year-old Wind Gap woman were charged with open lewdness after police were called to Atlas and Savage roads, Allen Township, at 12:11 p.m. Dec. 30.
Police said the two were involved in a sexual encounter inside a parked vehicle at Howertown Park. They were taken into custody and transported to the state police barracks for processing and then released.
Involved in the incident were a 2003 Dodge Caravan and a 2018 Ram truck.
• A 90-year-old woman from Schnecksville had $45,000 stolen from her in a theft by deception/credit-ATM card incident.
Police said they were called at 5:38 p.m. Jan. 12 to a property on Cobbler Road, North Whitehall Township, where the woman said the money was taken from her bank account through unauthorized transactions.
• Jamie Snyder, 33, of Walnutport, was charged with retail theft (shoplifting) after police were called to the Target store on Airport Center Road, Hanover Township, at 1:45 p.m. Dec. 5.
Police said it is alleged she stole merchandise valued at $784.74. They said $285 worth of the items were recovered.
They said the woman committed the theft by concealing the merchandise in personal shopping bags, paying for some of item and failing to pay for the remainder. She fled the scene in a 2016 Ford Escape, but was taken into custody after police stopped the vehicle.
