A Tamaqua woman has been charged for her part in the kidnapping of two girls from Tennessee.

According to State Police in Carlisle, Ana Rodriguez Gonzalez, 60, of Tamaqua; and Henry Rodriguez, 36, of Allentown, were arrested just before midnight Monday on Interstate 81 North in South Middleton Township, Cumberland County, in connection with the double kidnapping.

Troopers initiated a traffic stop involving a 2025 Nissan Rogue, which included Rodriguez and Rodriguez Gonzalez, as well as both girls.

Rodriguez and Rodriguez Gonzalez were taken into custody and transported to Cumberland County Prison to await extradition to Tennessee.

Bail has been denied in the case as both are considered fugitives.
