State police at Fogelsville - crashes
State police at the Fogelsville barracks reported the following crashes:
• Jaylen A. Alexander, 20, of Effort, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 8:57 a.m. Jan. 17 on Interstate 78 in Allentown. He was uninjured in the incident.
Police said he was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry westbound and was exiting at Exit 57 when he lost control of the car. It spun clockwise and hit a metal guide rail.
The car was towed from the scene.
• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 9:48 a.m. Dec. 22 on King’s Highway (Route 143) in Lynn Township.
Police said the crash occurred when a 16-year-old boy from New Tripoli was driving a 2013 Cadillac that turned left from Allemaengel Road onto King’s Highway and hit a 2016 Nissan Sentra driven eastbound by Kenneth Finneran, 71, of New Tripoli. Police said both vehicles had damage but were functional.
The 16-year-old was cited after the crash, according to police.
• Sarah E. Blackwell, 32, of Lehighton, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 9:16 a.m. Jan. 22 at the intersection of Route 309 and Mosserville Road, Lynn Township.
Police said she was transported by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township.
They said the crash occurred when she was driving a 2017 Toyota RAV4 and stopped at a stop sign, then failed to yield to oncoming traffic. They said the Toyota struck a 2005 Kenworth truck tractor driven by Carlos G. Ijes Rossi, 65, of Allentown.
Police said the RAV4 was towed from the scene, while the trailer of the Kenworth had disabling damage and was removed from the scene by a personal tow.
Blackwell was cited after the crash, according to police.
• Joshua M. Rehrig, 28, of Kunkletown, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 7:25 a.m. Jan. 25 on Allemaengel Road, Lynn Township.
Police said he was driving a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta in heavy snow conditions when the car exited the left side of the road and struck a culvert.
It had disabling front-end damage.
• Alexis H. Snyder, 19, of New Tripoli, was involved in a two-vehicle crash at 9:17 p.m. Jan. 23 on Werley’s Corner Road, Weisenberg Township.
Police said she was a passenger in a 2022 Ford F-150 pickup that was driven by Caden J. Rader, 19, of Fogelsville. She did not require an emergency medical services transport from the scene.
Police said the crash occurred when the F150 struck the back of a 2017 Toyota Prius that was stuck in the snow. The Prius was driven by Nancy J. Gross, 52, of New Tripoli.
Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Rader was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed, according to police.
• Scott A. Elias, 39, of Schnecksville, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 4:31 p.m. Dec. 10 on Weidasville Road, Lowhill Township.
Police said he was driving a 2018 Mazda that lost traction and slid from the top of a hill to the left side of the road where it struck a utility pole. Police said the road was unplowed and “iced over.”
The Mazda had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
