State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:

• Brad Parsons, 48, of Kunkletown, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance following a one-vehicle crash at 8:08 p.m. Jan. 24 on Forest Inn Road, Lower Towamensing Township. He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2018 Hyundai Sonata northbound when it traveled into the southbound lane, exited the roadway and hit a tree on an embankment before overturning and coming to rest in the middle of the road.

Police said he refused a medical services transport from the scene. They said he exhibited signs of impairment and was ultimately placed into custody while resisting police.

The Sonata was towed from the scene.

Police said Parsons was also cited for careless driving.

• Scott R. Prue Jr., 27, of Lehighton, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 9:23 p.m. Jan. 23 on Interchange Road, Polk Township. No one was hurt in the incident.

Police said Prue was driving a 2014 Ford Fusion southbound and related he believed he was chasing a truck when he realized it was not in front of him. They said he abruptly stopped the Fusion in the travel lane and was hit from behind by a 2022 Dodge Ram, 2500 operated by Dylan G. Radcliffe, 33, of Kresgeville.

Police were assisted at the scene by a local towing service.

They said both Prue and Radcliffe refused medical treatment at the scene.

• The driver of a vehicle that was involved in a crash at 2:06 p.m. Jan. 18 on Mountain Road in Ross Township was cited for failing.

Police did not identify the driver of the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek that was southbound. They said the vehicle was traveling too fast for conditions when it slid off the road and landed in a ditch. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Police said the driver was uninjured.

• The driver of a vehicle that crashed at 11:56 a.m. Jan. 24 on Blakeslee Boulevard Drive in Mahoning Township was cited.

Police did not identify the driver of the 2019 Ford Econoline who told them he was temporarily blinded while traveling north. The van left the roadway and struck a pole. It had minor damage but was towed from the scene at the owner’s request.

The driver was uninjured, police said.

• Reynaldo Ramirez, 42, of Nesquehoning, was injured after a two-vehicle crash at 6:20 a.m. Jan. 8 on Interchange Road, Towamensing Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Palmerton Community Ambulance Association to an area hospital for an evaluation.

They said the crash occurred when Clarissa A. Scott, 51, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2024 Jeep Compass and attempting to make a left turn when it struck a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Ramirez.

Police said Scott was cited after the crash.
