Get your swimsuit ready, it’s time to take a plunge.
A polar plunge that is.
The 13th annual Marian Catholic High School Polar Plunge at Mauch Chunk Lake is slated to take place Saturday.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. in the pavilion near the beach area, with the first jump starting at noon. You can register to either be a plunger or a chicken — someone who doesn’t enter the water but helps the school with its fundraiser.
Costumes are highly encouraged and prizes for best costume will be given.
This year, Marian Catholic’s students, faculty, staff, parents and community members looking for something different, will take the plunge.
In previous years nearly 100 plungers from 15 counties and even five states dressed up and made the jump.
In the event of severe weather, the plunge will be moved to Feb. 7.
