A Henryville man is facing charges relating to the sexual abuse of children under the state’s Photographic/Film/Depiction Computer Sex Act.

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks said Eric Jordan Silva, 51, has been taken into custody as part of an investigation that began on Dec. 26.

He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Philip R. Riley in Monroe County District 43-3-02 on charges of sexual abuse of children, child sexual abuse material, and criminal use of communication.

Police said the probe started when they were provided a USB flash drive that was found to contain child pornography on it.

With the assistance of the state police’s Southeast Computer Crime Unit, charges were filed against Silva and he was apprehended.

Police were also assisted in the investigation by officials from the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.
