Weatherly board recognizes PTA members

Weatherly School Board Vice President Tyree Harris took a moment to honor the Weatherly Parent Teacher Association at the meeting this week.

“After talking with the board, we decided that the PTA should be recognized,” Harris said. “They do a fantastic job behind the scenes. A lot of people see the end result; but, they don’t see the time put in. So we would like to recognize every parent. We appreciate them.”

Certificates for the Weatherly PTA Awards were prepared for PTA President Jackie Covey and Vice President Kristin Aneskevich.

Covey was not at the meeting; but, Aneskevich was presented with the certificate that reads “in appreciation of your time, dedication, and support to our school community.”

“We’re very lucky to have such a strong parent support and I appreciate them coming in and spending time with me,” Dr. Robert Croop, Weatherly School District Superintendent, added.

Croop also took a moment to recognize the Weatherly Area School Board members.

“January is School Board Recognition Month,” Dr. Croop explained. “I just want to take a moment to thank all of you. It’s a lot of hard work, a lot of thankless work.

“I know decisions that are made are sometimes criticized, and sometimes praised, and sometimes at the same time. And, I know that is difficult. But, I really appreciate everything you do.

“Representing our school, I just want to thank all of you for all you’ve done; and, I want to thank you for the opportunity you’ve given me, and I look forward to working with all of you as we move forward,” Croop added.
