State police barracks in Troop M, based in Bethlehem, have announced the annual Camp Cadet program will be held from Sunday through Friday, June 7 to 12, at Camp Fowler, 5851 Horseshoe Road, Orefield.
The camp is an overnight summer program for boys and girls between the ages of 12-15. Its goal is to introduce them to the diverse criminal justice system and to establish a positive relationship between law enforcement and youths, while living in an atmosphere similar to an actual State Police Academy.
Presentations will be made by personnel from various municipal, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
The camp stresses teamwork, honesty and integrity, while developing discipline and self-esteem that will promote good decision-making at a young age.
At the completion of the program, cadets will not only be proud of the accomplishments, but also gain an understanding of what it takes to be a police officer.
Anyone interested in attending the camp can register online beginning Monday, Jan. 19, at https://www.troopmcampcadet.org/
