Community Watch meetings
The Jim Thorpe Community Watch Meetings for the year have been announced.
The first meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on April 28 at the Thomas R. Highland Community Room, located inside the Jim Thorpe Police Department, 115 E. 10th St., Jim Thorpe.
Anyone who needs information on becoming a Community Watch member should contact Chief Joe Schatz at 570-325-4995, ext. 322.
Featured speakers/organizations for the year are as follows:
• April 28: Mayor Eric Cinicola, Chief Joe Schatz and Fire Commissioner Charles Sgrillo.
• June 23: Jim Thorpe Police, Jim Thorpe Fire and Lehighton Ambulance apparatus at Memorial Park parking lot. The presentation will be on what Jim Thorpe emergency services look like. Children are welcome.
• Aug. 25: Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau/Jim Thorpe Tourist Agency. The presentation will be on Tourism in Jim Thorpe.
• Oct. 27: End of year presentation.
