State police at the Frackville barracks are investigating an incident that occurred at the State Correctional Institute at Frackville.

Police said they were called to the facility on Altamont Boulevard in Ryan Township at 7:45 p.m. Dec. 27 after a 36-year-old inmate threw an unidentified liquid at two staff members, a 21-year-old man and a 43-year-old man, both from Frackville.

The assailant was cited for “assault by a prisoner,” according to police.
