Lehighton posted wins in girls basketball and girls wrestling on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Indian cage team defeated Notre Dame, while the grapplers downed Wilson.

In other action, Northwestern topped Northern Lehigh in girls basketball action, while the Palmerton girls wrestling squad blanked Jim Thorpe.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lehighton-Notre Dame

A big fourth quarter allowed Lehighton to pull out a 42-32 Colonial League victory over Notre Dame of Green Pond.

Ryleigh Trotman scored a game-high 14 points for the Indians, who trailed after three quarters but outscored the Crusaders 16-5 in the fourth to gain the win.

Leah Uyvari and Brielle Parliman each added nine points for Lehighton, while Brenna Hammerstone paced Notre Dame with 11 points.

Natalie Conner tallied a game-high 22 points to lead Northwestern to a 58-44 Colonial League victory over Northern Lehigh.

Conner has 10 points in the opening quarter to help the Tigers storm out to a 19-8 advantage.

Charlotte Gober aided the winning cause with nine points.

Tegan Simms led Northern Lehigh with 14 points in its season opener under new head coach Brandon Hibbler.

A slow start doomed Panther Valley in Schuylkill League action, as North Schuylkill registered a 60-47 victory.

Danny Wehr hit three of his four three-pointers in the Panthers’ 21-point fourth quarter, and ended with a game-high 17 points.

Chase McArdle added 10 points for PV.

Three Spartans finished in double figures, as Xavier McNally led the way with 16 points. Jude Maziekas and Cam Kocilowicz chipped in with 15 and 12 points, respectively.

Shaylee Gormley (50 free, 100 free) and Kate Behun (100 back, 500 free) both grabbed a pair of wins for the Lady Raiders.

The Tamaqua boys received two individual wins from Thomas Graham (200 free, 100 back).
