Write-in votes determine election winners in Carbon
The Carbon County Elections Office has announced the winners of elective offices via write-in votes in the Nov. 4 General Election.
Write-in votes enable people to secure an open office by receiving more votes than anyone else who appears on the ballot for a position, or by garnering the highest amount of votes for positions in which there are no candidates on the ballot. In most cases, only one write-in vote allowed a person to win an open position.
In this year’s election, most of the winners via write-in votes were for judge of elections, inspector of elections or auditor’s posts.
