Palmerton Festival receives $10K donation from 2 groups

Two local organizations have made contributions to the Palmerton Community Festival.

Befesa Zinc US Inc. and Blue Mountain Resort each donated $5,000 to the festival.

Raquel Serfass-Lutton, procurement manager, Befesa Zinc US, explained they are the founders of the community.

“We love to get involved,” Serfass-Lutton said. “This is the biggest community event of the year.”

Jim Dailey, general manager, Blue Mountain Resort, said they enjoy “being part of this wonderful, great community.”

“I want the youth here in Palmerton to not only enjoy the festival but also Blue Mountain,” Dailey said. “Commitment to the community is so important (and) for us to give back to the community.”

Jodi Smale, secretary/co-chair, Palmerton Community Festival, expressed gratitude and said the donations will go toward the cost of entertainment, along with other general expenses.

“We’re thankful to them for the partnerships we have with them,” Smale said. “It’s truly wonderful to be able to help cover the entertainment, the festival expenses in order to be able to provide the community with everything they’ve come to know and love.”

The 37th annual Palmerton Community Festival runs Friday through Sunday in the borough park.
