The Borough of Slatington is pleased to announce the installation of four brand-new Christmas light designs along Main Street, bringing fresh holiday cheer to the community while honoring local tradition.

Recently, the Slatington Public Works crew completed the installation of 60 new streetlamp decorations, featuring two unique snowflake designs, a Christmas tree, and a classic ornament motif. The full cost of the project was $30,000. Borough officials said it is especially exciting to have the new decorations installed ahead of the holiday season.

The new decorations were purchased from the same company that supplied the Hometown Heroes banners displayed earlier this year — continuing Slatington’s commitment to high-quality, cohesive community displays. A second round of Hometown Heroes banners will be offered soon, with additional details to be announced.

To help fund the new holiday lights, several residents and local businesses generously contributed donations, and the borough has submitted multiple grant applications to offset expenses. However, additional community support is still needed to fully fund the project.

As part of this effort, the borough is offering the public a chance to own a piece of Slatington history. The retired holiday lights, which adorned Main Street for more than 20 years are now available for purchase. These historic decorations can be purchased at the borough office for $50 each, with all proceeds supporting the holiday lighting program. Monetary donations also are still being accepted.

“We’re excited to bring a refreshed and festive look to Main Street this season,” Mayor Jeralyn Schoch said. “These new decorations brighten our community, and the continued support from residents and businesses helps keep Slatington’s holiday spirit shining.”
