Man charged after traffic stop on turnpike

A 34-year-old man from Cincinnati, Ohio, was charged with theft of services after police stopped a traffic-trailer for a registration violation at 3:17 p.m. Nov. 8 in Kidder Township.

State police at the Pocono barracks said the stop was conducted at mile marker 94.8 on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Police said it was determined the registration plate on the vehicle registered to J&A Logistics Transportation, Cincinnati, was fraudulent. They said as the plate was being removed from the rig, another fraudulent plate was discovered underneath it.

Police said the rig was towed from the scene.

They said a victim of the incident is a 65-year-old man from Robinson, Illinois.
