State police at Frackville - crashes
State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following crashes:
• Police responded to a hit-and-run crash at 10:09 a.m. Nov. 8 on Route 209 in Blythe Township.
They said a Cadillac vehicle traveling west left the roadway and struck a guide rail along the south shoulder of the road and then left the scene.
• Robert L. Roland, 52, of Halifax, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 4:09 p.m. Oct. 28 on Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township.
Police said he was driving a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee when he suspected a vehicle struck an object in the roadway that exploded and struck the side of the Jeep.
Police said he left the scene and traveled to the barracks to report the crash.
• Jamie L. Egleston, 44, of Shamokin, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 6:37 a.m. Nov. 7 on Aristes Road, Union Township.
Police said she was transported by personnel from the Shenandoah Community Ambulance Association to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pottsville.
Police said the crash occurred as Noah J. Kreitzer, 26, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 2023 Kenworth when he backed into a 2016 Hyundai Tucson operated by Egleston. Police said the Tucson was towed from the scene.
Kreitzer was cited after the crash, according to police.
• Salina R. Tuohey, 32, of New Hampton, New York, was uninjured when the car she was driving struck a dead deer at 6:20 p.m. Nov. 9 on Interstate 81 in Ryan Township.
Police said she was southbound in a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze when she hit the deer, which was down on the roadway.
The car had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
• Parker J. Coleman, 22, of Tamaqua, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 6:59 p.m. Oct. 31 on Interstate 81 in Kline Township.
Police said he was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Corvette when its front tire blew out, causing him to lose control of the car. It struck a concrete barrier and traveled down a grass hill.
• Julian J. Matula, 22, of Pottsville, was uninjured when the car he was driving struck a deer on Route 209 in Schuylkill Township.
It occurred at 7:58 p.m. Nov. 10 when he was westbound in a 2018 BMW.
The car had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
• No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 12:33 p.m. Nov. 9 on Interstate 81 in Ryan Township.
Police said the crash occurred as Conner S. Roche, 23, of Newnan, Georgia, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro northbound when it left the road, hit a tree and overturned, coming to rest on its roof in a grass area.
The car was towed from the scene.
• Police said a car that sideswiped a vehicle driven by a Coaldale man left the scene of the crash at 5:52 p.m. Nov. 8 on Union Street, Schuylkill Township.
They said the westbound vehicle struck a 2020 Kia Forte operated by Marcus R. Rodriguez, 19, of Coaldale. Rodriguez and a passenger, Emma G. Boger, 18, of Summit Hill, were uninjured.
Police said the Forte had minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene.
• Seven S. Snell, 25, of Felton, was uninjured when the car she was driving struck a bear at 11:36 p.m. Nov. 2 on Interstate 81 in Delano Township.
Police said she was driving a 2020 Volkswagen southbound when the crash happened. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
