State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 43-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 9.
He was stopped in a 201 Hyundai Sonata for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East, Lehighton.
• A 41-year-old man from Kunkletown was arrested on theft of services charges after police received a report involving St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fireline Road, Lower Towamensing Township.
Police said a representative of the church told them the man cashed a check for $3,000 for Royal Forest Home Improvement in July 2024 and that no work has been done at the church property.
• A 25-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 1:46 a.m. on Nov. 8.
He was stopped in a 2018 Subaru Impreza for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Coal Street in Lehighton.
• A 23-year-old Palmerton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 2:13 a.m. on Nov. 7.
He was stopped in a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Snyders Road in Towamensing Township.
• Michael Herman, 27, of Lehighton, is facing theft charges after police were called to 3850 Forest Inn Road, Lower Towamensing Township.
Police said Nadiia Ziklenkova, 38, of Palmerton, told them at 2:06 a.m. on Sept. 18 that a man trespassed onto her property and stole two packages from her front porch.
Police said Herman was identified and picked up on an arrest warrant.
The packages contained sunglasses worth $50.94 and a calendar valued at $19.
• A 35-year-old Kunkletown woman reported to police that she is the victim of an indecent exposure incident that occurred when she was monitoring the boys’ bathroom at the Pleasant Valley Intermediate School, Midway Pines Lane, Polk Township.
She reported the incident at 3:34 p.m. on Oct. 22.
