Tamaqua police log
Tamaqua police reported the following incidents:
• A Tamaqua man was jailed in Schuylkill County Prison on charges that he trespassed at several different properties over two days.
Police said that Terrence Love, 60, faces charges of criminal trespass, defiant trespass and disorderly conduct related to incidents on Oct. 30 and 31.
Police said that between 2 and 2:30 a.m., Love was on a porch on the 100 block of Hunter Street, smoking a cigarette and drinking a soda. The resident told Love to leave.
Police found him a short distance away and told him not to return to the residence.
At 8:30 a.m. Oct. 30, police said Love went into a Hunter Street business and was mumbling about a shotgun. He left the store and then was spotted on a Hunter Street porch where he did not live.
At 8:30 a.m. Oct. 31, he was at the Hunter Street residence again. The resident phoned police and officers found Love sitting on an adjoining porch. He was taken into custody and arraigned on the charges. He was unable to post $2,500 straight bail.
A preliminary hearing for Love is scheduled for Nov. 25 before Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer.
• A 14-year-old Tamaqua boy will be charged with disorderly conduct after police said he shot a BB gun at a surveillance camera on the unit block of West Union Street at 8:23 a.m. Nov. 7.
Police were called to the area and spoke to the 14- year-old and an 8-year-old boy. Officers said the teen had a BB gun, a vape and a straight-edge blade.
He told police that he was shooting at a squirrel in a tree but video surveillance shows him shooting at the camera.
Police confiscated the BB gun and blade and disposed of the vape.
Officers contacted both boys’ parents.
