State police at Lehighton - crashes
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:
• No one was injured in a three-vehicle crash at 5:05 p.m. Oct. 28 on Interchange Road in Polk Township.
Police said the crash occurred as George H. Neumann III, 51, of Lehighton, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado when he failed to see two vehicles stopped in front of his vehicle.
The Silverado, police said, struck a 2009 Lexus driven by Michael M. Sherlinski, 41, of Kunkletown, pushing it into the back of a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe operated by Dayanara Rosa, 44, also of Kunkletown.
Police said the Lexus was towed from the scene but the Silverado and Tahoe were able to be driven away.
In addition to all three drivers, two 6-year-old girls who were in the Tahoe were also uninjured.
Neumann was cited for following too closely, according to police.
• Police responded to a crash at 3:27 a.m. Oct. 7 on North First Street, Lehighton, and said the driver of the vehicle involved fled the scene.
The crash occurred when a 2008 Infiniti was northbound and crossed both lanes, traveling off the road and striking a billboard and an unoccupied trailer.
Police said a witness told them a male exited the vehicle and ran.
The car was towed from the scene.
• Branden L. Minninger, 41, of Lehighton, had minor injuries after a motorcycle crash at 5:09 a.m. Oct. 31 on Pine Run Road, Towamensing Township.
Police said he refused a medical services transport from the scene.
They said he was operating a 2025 Honda CRF1100 southbound when it struck a tree that had fallen on the roadway. Police said the motorcycle went down and Minninger went over a guide rail on the east shoulder, down an embankment and then hit a tree.
The motorcycle was removed from the scene.
• Tyler M. Hill, 22, of Jim Thorpe, had suspected minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 10:57 p.m. Nov. 1 on Church Road in Penn Forest Township.
Police said he was operating a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 northbound when it crossed both lanes, left the western shoulder, traveled onto a grassy area and then hit a tree.
Police said Hill was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and failure to drive at a safe speed.
• A 16-year-old girl from Lehighton was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 6:45 a.m. Oct. 31 at the intersection of Interchange Road and Palm Drive in Towamensing Township. No one was injured in the crash.
Police said the crash occurred as the girl was driving a 2014 Ford Fusion and attempted to make a left turn from Palm Drive onto Interchange Road.
She turned in front of a 2022 GMC Sierra driven by Kenneth M. Rohlfing, 56, of Lehighton, who was northbound at the time, and the Sierra hit the driver’s side rear of the Fusion, police said.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
