State police at Frackville
State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incidents:
• Police were called to a theft incident 3:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Hometown Farmers Market, Mahanoy Avenue, Rush Township.
A 60-year-old woman from Northumberland told police that she rents a stand at the market, where she sells jewelry. A white female, about 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing about 110 pounds, stole a blue sapphire stone ring, the stand owner said.
The suspect is described as being in her late 20s to early 30s. She was wearing a camo-style cap and tan jacket.
Police said an investigation into the theft is ongoing.
• A 39-year-old man from Ono, was charged with indecent assault after police were called to Plaza Drive, Hometown, Rush Township, at 8:22 a.m. Oct. 26.
Police said a 39-year-old Hazleton woman reported that the man made touched her buttocks twice without her consent.
• Police were called to a theft at Basile’s Italian Delight, Claremont Avenue, Hometown, Rush Township, at 8:59 p.m. Sept. 14.
Someone stole a large pizza and soda valued at $27.30 and left the scene in a 2005 Chevrolet, police said.
• Police are investigating a theft by deception (wire fraud) incident they were summoned to at 9:13 a.m. Oct. 22 at the McDonald’s Restaurant in New Castle Township.
A 20-year-old employee from Barnesville told police she was working when someone contacted the restaurant by telephone and then contacted her on her personal cellphone, asking her to retrieve money from the safe for a delivery.
The woman provided a portion of the money from the safe and money from a personal account in transactions that were completed utilizing a bitcoin kiosk and Cash App.
Police said $3,360 was stolen in the incident.
• Police responded to a reported death at 8:46 a.m. Oct. 12 on the Haddock Road, Kline Township.
They said an 83-year-old woman from McAdoo died of natural causes and there were no signs of foul play nor suspicious circumstances at the scene.
• Police are investigating the theft of a generator from a property on Lakeside Avenue, Delano Township.
A 71-year-old woman from Mahanoy City told police that at 1:50 p.m. Nov. 2 the red and black 3500 Predator Portable unit was taken from a semi-wooded area of her property.
The generator is valued at $800.
