Turnpike crashes

State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Police said an electronic message board at mile marker 89.1 in Kidder Township was damaged at noon Oct. 28.

They said debris in the roadway ricocheted from a vehicle and struck the sign.

• Police said the driver of a vehicle that struck a traffic regulator mobile light board in a work zone at mile marker 91.9 in Kidder Township left the scene.

The incident occurred at 6:15 a.m. Oct. 27.

Police said the vehicle was southbound when it traveled onto the right shoulder of the road and struck the sign.

• Libby E. Hess, 56, of Upland, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 7:06 a.m. Oct. 19 at mile marker 95.9 in Kidder Township.

Police said the severity of her injuries is unknown. The White Haven Rescue Squad responded to the crash.

They said the crash occurred when Hess was driving a 2021 Honda Ridgeline that attempted to pass a 2017 Freightliner driven by Hernan W. Boves, 59, of Miami, Florida, striking the rig. The Honda left the road, traveled up an embankment, hit a tree and overturned.

• No one was injured when a vehicle hit a deer at 12:58 a.m. Oct. 18 at mile marker 67.3 in Washington Township.

Police said Katherine C. Infranco, 19, of Brick, New Jersey, was driving the 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe southbound when the deer ran from the woods and entered the roadway, where it was struck.

• Police said Heather L. Dohman, 51, of Nanticoke, was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township, after a one-vehicle crash.

Dohman was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

The crash occurred at 5:25 p.m. Oct. 1 at mile marker 78.3 in Franklin Township.

Police said she was driving a 2007 Honda Civic south when it hit a concrete center barrier.
