The Carbon County commissioners reported on personnel last week:
Commissioners’ Chairman Mike Sofranko said new positions are not being created. Moves are being made within departments, job descriptions are being refined as a result of the new wage scale, or vacant positions filled that had already been established before the hiring freeze at the beginning of 2025.
• Prison board appointment: Brandon L. Brown of Nesquehoning and Abigail M. Lawson of Jim Thorpe, part-time corrections officers, effective Sept. 29.
• Change of status: Zachary A. Kindt of Jim Thorpe, from senior dispatcher to 911 assistant manager/addressing coordinator, communications center, effective Oct. 6.
• Court changes of status: Joanne M. Maurer of Nesquehoning, from lead judicial secretary to lead executive secretary, court administration; Rayonna J. Fedor of Kunkletown and Carla M. Hill of Jim Thorpe, both from judicial secretary to executive secretary, court administration. All are effective Oct. 6.
• Juvenile probation resignation: Gavin A. Malampy of Allentown, probation officer I, effective Oct. 14.
• Clerk of courts appointment: Alexander C. McNaughton of Jim Thorpe, deputy clerk, effective Sept. 29.
• Sheriff appointment: Tate M. Ligenza of New Ringgold, deputy sheriff, effective Oct. 6.
