The West Penn Township Police Department released its activities report for September.

Police patrolled a total of 5,840 miles and issued 103 traffic citations and 30 traffic warnings. There were eight motor vehicle crashes, and 88 calls. Police made three criminal arrests.

The report was accepted by township supervisors, who also approved a request from the department to send an officer to Taser training. The trained officer can then share the knowledge and have other officers certified to use the devices. The training will cost $447.
