Lehigh Township supervisors pressed during their Sept. 23 meeting for more details on a $9,500 request from Pennoni Associates for zoning and mapping services.
“I want them to be more specific on what the charges are for,” Supervisor Cindy Miller said.
Solicitor David Backenstoe added, “They have to come in and explain everything. Mike Muffley, our engineer, should be here, too. You can have a public meeting with them before a regular meeting.”
Pennoni took over township zoning and mapping from Urban Research & Development Corporation.
In other business, supervisors:
• Approved the 2026 minimum municipal obligations: $49,300 for nine police officers and $200,000 for the pension plan.
• Adopted Resolution 2025-6 to apply for a $195,000 Monroe County LSA grant and Resolution 2025-7 to apply for an $89,000 Northampton-Lehigh County grant.
• Hired Conrad Siegel to provide investment and custodial services for the police pension plan after Truist exited the pension market.
• Backenstoe also noted that LMA Land Development (Jaindl) is seeking to waive recreation fees, but supervisors tabled the issue until the developers attend a meeting to explain the request.
