The Carbon Career & Technical Institute Joint Operating Committee heard a budget update it met recently.

According to Jeffrey Deutsch, business administrator for CCTI, they are working on the 2026-27 CCTI operating budget, and there will be no overall increase for the five participating school districts.

“This is the 13th consecutive year with no increase,” Deutsch said.

Regarding the state budget impasse, Deutsch pointed out that the situation will have some impact on CCTI, but not as much as on the five sending schools.

Jason Moser, the superintendent for the Lehighton Area School District and the superintendent of record for CCTI, said that they are still awaiting approval of the state budget.

“It’s quite important for that money to start rolling in, not just for our schools but for all sorts of different services,” Moser said.
