Parryville to celebrate 150th birthday

Parryville is hosting a Community Day Saturday to celebrate its 150th anniversary.

Formally established in 1875, Parryville’s story began in 1781, with the building of a gristmill along the Pohopoco Creek. A historic photo display will show some of the town’s history.

The Community Day celebration at the Carl Wolter III Playground begins at noon, with presentations at 3 p.m. A fire truck parade will be held before the presentation.

The day will include live music from 1 to 3 p.m. with a DJ, and Sweet Revenge playing from 4 to 7 p.m.

Food trucks will be on site.
