Franklin Township supervisors took the following action recently:

• Hired Tyler D. Poole as a full-time work crew/garbage crew employee, at the rate of $20.10 per hour, effective Sept. 15.

• Approved the rate increase of work crew employee Shawn Hutchinson from $20.10 to $21.16 per hour, effective Sept. 1.

• Approved the police pension minimum municipal obligation for 2026 in the amount of $77,549.

• Approved the non-uniformed pension plan for 2026 in the amount of $80,379.

• Agreed to have the township fire police assist in the group ride for the “Back The Blue” bike run Oct. 18.

• Agreed to have the township fire police assist the Lehighton fire police with traffic control for the Lehighton Halloween Parade at 4 p.m. Oct. 18. The rain date is Oct. 19 at 2 p.m.

• Agreed to have the Franklin Township Fire Company participate in the Lehighton Halloween Parade.

• Announced a change in garbage collection for the Columbus Day holiday. Oct. 13 pickup will be picked up on Oct. 14.

• Announced that an electronics recycling event will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (or until truck is full) Oct. 18 for Franklin Township residents only.
