A driver was cited after his vehicle crashed following a tire failure, state police at the Frackville barracks said.

Malachi T. Dixon, 20, of Frederick, Maryland, was cited after the crash at 8 p.m. Aug. 20 on Morea Road, Mahanoy Township. He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2011 Infiniti eastbound when the passenger side rear tire failed, causing him to lose control of the vehicle, which crossed both lanes of traffic and hit an embankment on the left shoulder.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
