State police report on Monroe County incidents

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 31-year-old Sciota man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 12:23 a.m. Sept. 20.

The man, whose name was not released, was stopped in a 2013 Jeep for Motor Vehicle Code violations on North Fifth Street in Stroud Township. Police said he was transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, for processing.

• Matthew Maldonado, 23, no address provided by police, was taken into custody at Chili’s restaurant, Stroud Township, at 3:41 p.m. Sept. 17.

Police said they received information he was at the restaurant and that he was wanted in Osceola County, Florida, on violent felony charges.

He was lodged in the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville.

• Police are investigating a theft of copper wire reported the morning of Sept. 4 on Manor Drive, Hamilton Township.

• Matthew Keiper, 29, of Cresco, was cited for criminal mischief after police responded to an incident at 3:40 p.m. Aug. 2 on Route 115 in Hamilton Township.

A 58-year-old woman from Saylorsburg reported damage to her microwave, metal cabinet, a box fan and the bathroom mirror. The damage was estimated at $150.

• Police were called to a theft by deception incident at 2:25 p.m. Aug. 26.

They said the owner of Duck Donuts, 3560 Route 611, Hamilton Township, reported a loss of $552.
